What about a Creme Brulee gelato flavor?
That sounds awesome… I love creme brulee. We have done egg nog gelato, the base of which would be similar to creme brulee if you take away the nutmeg and the booze.
The big question is… how to get the crunchy sugar bits incorporated… we might be able to figure out a way to brulee sugar in a separate pan, and then layer the sugar in a pan of gelato…
Seems like it would shine best in 3″ cake form — the size and shape that creme brulee usually comes in. Man, that sounds awesome. We should try to get a restaurant to buy into this…
Wow, these sound amazing. I’d love to try a sample of each and every one! Gelato and sorbet are so much better than ice cream, if you ask me, especially with visionaries like you creating such a variety of flavors. I see you have an olive oil flavor (which I’ve heard is popular in some of New York City’s top Italian restaurants), but what about balsamic vinegar? It’s very sweet (and delicious to sip chilled), but has a good bite as well. I’ve always been a fan of marinating sliced strawberries in balsamic vinegar and pouring it over good vanilla ice cream — would that be a good gelato, or do you think it would be too weird or gross?
I really love the idea of a balsamic vinegar gelato — I don’t think it would be weird or gross at all, especially if combined nicely with complimentary fruit. Thanks!!
